The rapper has served 80% of his original sentence for possession of a firearm and is now likely to be out tomorrow (Friday 4 Nov).
Speaking to our US team a Rikers’ Island prison official said: “His time was miscalculated. He owed, he owes one day of 'good time,' so it's gonna be another night.
“If you get an infraction in jail, they'll take away 'good time' — time that you accumulated for good behaviour.”
The Lollipop rapper was caught with an MP3 player and headphones whilst inside back in May.
Earlier this week he released a final prison letter thanking fans for their support. Weezy is expected to play a gig soon after being released in Miami.
